My story
I'm JJ Allen, a Doctor of Pharmacy and a certified sports nutritionist (CISSN). I started out in engineering before I found my way to pharmacy. I'm the managing pharmacist at Sawyer Street Hometown Pharmacy in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and a certified LDN specialist through the LDN Research Trust.
My wife Evey and I were both trained in conventional medicine, and we've both spent years in functional medicine. She's a nurse practitioner and owns Green Medicine of Wisconsin, and I work closely with her there. So we live in two worlds. Most days I feel like a translator between them.
For over a decade I've given community talks around the Fox Valley, at senior centers, Learning in Retirement and the YMCA, and helped people sort out their meds and supplements at the counter. This blog is where I share what I've learned.
