Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) in Oshkosh

General education, not medical advice. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before you change anything.

I'm a certified LDN specialist through the LDN Research Trust, and we compound LDN at Sawyer Street Hometown Pharmacy in Oshkosh.

LDN is naltrexone at a much lower dose than the one used for alcohol or opioid use. Prescribers use it for things like chronic pain, fibromyalgia and some autoimmune conditions. LDN isnt magic and results vary from person to person.

What keeps pulling me in: for some people, LDN may lower the need for higher risk medications like pregabalin (Lyrica), gabapentin or hydrocodone. Anytime I find something lower risk and higher reward, that's what I gravitate toward.

How we make it: one thing, done well. Naltrexone and one filler, microcrystalline cellulose, in a vegetable capsule. No dyes, no silica, no magnesium stearate.

How we usually start: your prescriber sets your dose. We often use 0.5 mg and 1.5 mg capsules and go up 0.5 mg a week until you find your dose. Then we make that exact strength. It's personal.

One big exception: LDN doesn't mix with opioid pain medicines.

Never change a medication on your own. Want to talk about LDN? See me at Sawyer Street Hometown Pharmacy, or have your prescriber call me.
